A friend emailed me a list of businesses that offer special discounts to senior citizens. I have not verified every single place on the list but you can certainly use this as a guide and ask if they honor it when you visit one. Add these discounts to restaurant coupons (if allowed) and you can get a real bargain. I don’t know where the email originated and am printing it as it was sent to me.
As I waited in line behind an older gentleman at Wendy’s, I heard him ask for his senior discount. The girl at the register apologized and charged him less. I asked the man what the discount was and was told that seniors over age 55 get 10% off everything on the menu, every day. Being “of that age” myself, I figured I might as well ask for the discount.
This incident prompted me to do some research, and I came across a list of restaurants and supermarkets giving various discounts with different age requirements. I was actually surprised to see how many there are and how some them start at the young age of 50.
Know that prices and discounts may change so always check to be sure what is offered.

Always ask if a store offers a discount to seniors. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. When you are a senior living on a budget, every little bit saved helps. Remember that those discounts may also work online for retail stores.
