Haven’t Talked to Her in 75 Years – Ain’t Gonna Do It Now!

Since my brother became ill, I attended most doctor appointments or sat with him each day when he stayed in the hospital.  Knowing more about his health than he at that point, I answered questions  from doctors and nurses.  I automatically spoke regarding illnesses and medications he took, as well as when he visited other doctors and why.  Although, on more than one occasion, we mentioned my relationship as his sister and not his spouse, not everyone listened.  That became obvious in today’s dialysis session.

The nurse came to give him his monthly report regarding his overall health.

“You are doing excellent in all areas.” she said, grinning at passing along good news.  Are you going to tell your wife?”

“I haven’t told my wife anything in all my seventy-five years; don’t see any reason to start now!” He growled.

The brat walked out without telling the nurse he’s never been married and that the woman they see him with is his sister!
