In Florida, the Florida Food Assistance and SUNCAP programs help individuals and families purchase food from most retailers that sell food. If you meet the program guidelines, you will be issued a debit card called an EBT card that comes pre-loaded with a certain amount of funds on it to buy food. The amount will depend on your household income including pay for work, Social Security, SSI or Disability, where you live, and how many reside in your household. Other states have similar programs.
